457 and ENS (Employer Nomination Scheme) Occupation List Consultation

The Department of Employment is responsible for undertaking a regular review of the new Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) and Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

The Department has developed a Traffic Light system to flag possible changes occupations currently listed on the STSOL and the MLTSSL.

Because there were substantial changes to the skilled migration occupation lists in April and July 2017, and there are no proposed changes for the MLTSSL strategic skills list at this time.

This current Traffic Light Bulletin is for consultation purposes only. Stakeholder feedback will be taken into account before the list is finalised. We have attached a copy for your information and urge our clients who have been detrimentally affected by the changes to submit their feedback.

The public consultation period is open until 1 December 2017.

The Department invites stakeholders to provide evidence and feedback in relation to the specific occupations identified for possible change, as well as those flagged for no change.

How do you provide feedback?

Visa Executive encourages our clients who may be affected by the proposed changes to the STSOL to provide feedback and evidence to the Department through its online submission template.

Please take your time and look through the list, you will notice that there are occupations that look like they are coming off the occupation list such as : -

  • Recruitment Consultant

Occupations going on to the approved occupation list are : -

  • University Tutor
  • Real Estate Agent
  • Property Manager

There are 27 pages of occupations where no change is mooted.

Its almost un-Australian not to have your say !
