Global Talent - Independent Program
Australia’s Immigration Minister David Coleman has announced the launch of the Global Talent - Independent Program.
Australia, like most countries in the world wishes to encourage highly skilled migrants who are likely to earn more than AUD $149,000 p.a. and who work in one of seven key industry sectors to apply for residence.
The applications will be fast tracked for permanent residency.
The 7 key industries.
The industry sectors are:
- AgTech
- FinTech
- MedTech
- Cyber Security
- Energy and Mining
- Space and Advanced Manufacturing
- Quantum Information/Advanced Digital/ Data Science and ICT.
The media release from the Department also reveals that Global Talent Officers from the Department of Home Affairs have already been deployed in Berlin, Washington DC, Singapore, Shanghai, Santiago, Dubai and New Delhi.
There have been 5000 places allocated to this scheme in the 2019-20 migration program.

Access to the program will be via a referral from either:
- a Global Talent Officer
- an organisation or an individual with a national reputation in the same field as the candidate
Visa Executive will assist in the preparation of these visa applications and co-ordination through the Global Talent Officer in the nearest location.
